The extraction properties of tetramethylmalonamide (TMMA) resin have been studied for the separation of actinides from radioactive waste solutions. High weight distribution ratios (Dw) of Th and U were obtained from HNO3 and HCl solutions in the concentration range 0.01 to 10 M. Dw of Am was over 60 from HNO3 solutions in that concentration range, however, it decreased to 5 from 0.01 to 1 M HCl solutions. The influence of co-existing metal ions on Dw of Am from 3 M HNO3 solution was studied. Dw of Am was decreased with an increaseing Fe3+ concentration due to the competition. On the other hand, Dw of Am was slightly increased in the presence of Ni2+. In order to evaluate stripping agent, the influence of some organic acids and chelate agents on Dw of Th and U were investigated.
