Using direct ethylene polymerization by coordination chemistry or combined with few chemistry steps, we respectively prepared highly functionalized (>90%) vinyl terminated polyethylenes (PE-Ene) and thiol terminated polyethylenes (PE-SH). Thiol-ene reactions via a free radical or ionic mechanism were conducted leading to functionalized PE-R (R= COOH, OH, Cl�), macromonomers and block copolymers based on PE.
