A series of (Cp*MoS2)2 complexes that contained a tetrasulfide bridged dimolybdenum core were synthesized, characterized, and studied.  These complexes contained up to three S-H bonds, which were the focus of reactivity studies using benzyl radical for hydrogen atom abstraction as well as thermochemical studies in acetonitrile to determine pKa values (4.9-31.0), solution bond dissociation free energies (43.2-66.1 kcal/mol), and hydride donor abilities (44.3-84.5 kcal/mol).  Due to the extensive thermochemical data that was obtained, free energy landscapes were employed to better understand and present the resulting data.
