Dried distillers grains with solubles (DDGS) have become an abundant by-product of grain ethanol production with the recent upswing of biofuels.  In order to convert this by-product into a more useful feedstock, various combinations and concentrations of enzymes were used to deconstruct the DDGS into free sugars. The results of the treatments on glucose production were measured using the glucose oxidase assay. The highest glucose production was observed when high concentrations of microbially-produced amylase, xylanase, mannanase, �-glucosidase, and cellulase were used in combination with corn seed extracts that had been engineered to contain cellulase.
