The performance of a Chemflow FIP-3, and a Global FIA flowcells were evaluated with respect to sample through-put, stability of baseline signal due to liquid junction effects and detection limit.  Two types of Fluoride Ion-Selective Electrode were used as the sensors.  The Chemflow FIP-3 flow cell with an in-built reference system based on the merging of two flowing streams out-performed the Global flow cell in all parameters.  Sample through-puts of 120 per hour were easily obtained.  The flow liquid junction of the FIP-3 provided greater baseline stability and hence a lower detection limit of 0.1 ppm.
