The National Council of Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer (NCET2) is an organization of entrepreneurial universities and like-minded groups committed to the creation, development, and funding of transformative university startups. With a network of over 200 research universities, NCET2 promotes best practices in the creation and funding of university startups by supporting entrepreneurship and providing entrepreneurial education. NCET2 connects the dots - investors, economic development organizations, public and private funds and tech transfer professionals - in building centers of innovation at universities. NCET2 operates the Research Commercialization and SBIR Center and through its online webinars, courses and workshops and support services like the Faculty Startup Program, NCET2 facilitates the creation of faculty startups and transition the over 600,000 science and technology (S&T) graduate students and post-docs into industry jobs.This year, NCET2 started a new project to benchmark and track the creation of startups by universities. The university startup database and map will locate and provide key information about the approximately 6000 university startups created since 1980. This graphical tool will also track annual startup creation by university. This project is tied in to the President-Investors Summit, a pre-conference event of the 6th Annual Entrepreneurial University Startups Conference. The Summit will bring together university presidents, chancellors, provosts, vice-presidents, deans and the nation's leading investors in technology startups to continue the discussion on the importance of universities in startup generation and job creation. The annualEntrepreneurial University Startups Conference will take place January 18-20, 2012 at the Washington Convention Center, Washington, DC.
