The activation of alternative resources for usage as chemical feedstock are presently on major focus in the chemical industry [1, 2]. Herby provides the Oxidative Coupling of Methane (OCM) to ethylene with natural gas or biogas a promising alternative feedstock for the petro chemical industry. A number of researches at the TU Berlin conducted with the demonstration of the technical feasibility of an energy and resource efficient OCM process, including product recovery in a miniplant scale. In this presentation, the gas treatment of the reaction product gas is discussed as a key part of the production chain from raw material to the product [3].An experimental study of a classical reactor concept for the OCM shows a maximum CO2 production of 25 vol% using a fluidized bed reactor [6].  However, like in many industrial applications is CO2 formed as side product during the reaction and is treated in the classical OCM Process as an unwanted by-product or waste. In order to meet the crucial cost requirements for an industrial applicable OCM process, the energy and resource usage must be highly efficient. Therefore different separation methods and several process alternatives for carbon dioxide utilization are investigated theoretically and the most promising are built in a miniplant scale. In this presentation the experimental results of an energy efficient hybrid separation process with more than 40% energy saving compared to the state of the art CO2 capture process of the OCM in mini plant scale are discussed.  In a case study of the oxidative coupling of methane process, the development of an integrated gas treatment process for CO2 capture with more than 40 % energy saving in the miniplant scale is shown and process alternatives for carbon utilization and increase of resource efficiency is shown.
