Multicomponent reations (MCRs) have emerged as a powerful tool in the creation of molecular complexity and diversity from simple substrates.1 We have extended our previously reported one-pot three-component condensation reaction2 to the preparation of a series of highly substituted 4H-pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidines by use of 2-aminopyridines, aldehydes and ketones.
