In this work, L-proline functionalized polystyrene copolymers have been prepared by RAFT polymerization techniques. The self-assembly behavior of these copolymers and their organocatalytic activity and selectivity were studied using a model aldol condensation reaction. The advantage of our assembled copolymer system was highlighted when the aldol reaction was carried out at low catalyst loadings, as it improves on the unsupported catalytic system. Additionally, the possibility of catalyst recovery and reuse in consecutive catalytic cycles is another advantage of our system.
