X-ray fluorescence (XRF) was used to analyze pottery samples that were collected from different archaeological sites in Jordan with Nabataen ruins. These samples all have a similar thickness, red coloring and darker markings which has led archaeologists to assume that the wares were manufactured near Petra and then distributed elsewhere. The XRF analysis allowed the determination of the different elements comprising each sample. Comparative analysis of the elemental composition was done using IGOR Pro software. Multiple elements were compared in order to determine the best set of elements for future comparisons. Results indicate that the pottery may have come from multiple sources.
