Drug testing is used for many different reasons.  A common form used is urinalysis.  Drug testing using hair is another option.  Hair drug testing is less invasive and more sanitary in comparison urinalysis. It also provides longer-term drug history in regards to the amount and pattern of drug use, than the typical 2-3 day period that urinalysis detects.  Hair analysis also offers a wider surveillance window and no opportunity to avoid taking the drug test until the drugs are out of the persons system.Hair analyses however are not well characterized in the literature.  The objectives of this study were to monitor fundamental chemical interactions in a human hair follicle by observing diffusion of various solvents through a follicle.
