Samples of weathered oil sheens, slicks and tarballs were collected from the sea surface and along the coastlines in Mississippi, Alabama and Florida from May 11th to October 14th, 2010 following the Deepwater Horizon accident. Geochemical fingerprinting was used to identify if the collected samples were related to the MC 252 oil release or oil from other sources. The presentation will discuss our interpretation of the samples and trends we see in samples taken at the beginning, middle, and end of the study period.
