Herein is demonstrated that the inverse electron demand Diels-Alder between tetrazine and norbornene is a viable method of polymer-polymer conjugation and functionalization.  The reaction does not require the addition of any further reagent, aside from the two functional polymers in equimolar amounts, or stimulus to proceed, is easily monitored using the distinctive colour change from purple to orange, and the coupled product needs no purification following the reaction.  Orthogonality to the CuAAC click reaction renders the Tz-Nb click reaction a useful tandem reaction for two different functionalizations on a single polymeric scaffold.
