The fully organocatalytic precise synthesis of poly(N,N-diethylacrylamide) (poly(DEAA)), poly(DEAA) end-functionalized with a hydroxyl group (poly(DEAA)-OH) were achieved by the group transfer polymerization (GTP) promoted by bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (Tf2NH) using (Z)-1-methylamino-1-methylsiloxy-1-propene ((Z)-DATP) or newly synthesized (Z)-N-methyl-N-(2-trimethylsiloxy)ethoxy-1-amino-1-trimethylsiloxy-1-propene ((Z)-HEMATP) as an initiator.The GTP of DEAA initiated by (Z)-DATP at 20�C proceeded in living fashion to produce poly(DEAA) with a range of molecular weight and low molecular weight distribution, which was proved from the kinetic study, the MALDI-TOF MS measurement, the post-polymerization experiment, and the block copolymerization experiment with N,N-dimethylacrylamide (DMAA). Additionally, the GTP of DEAA initiated by (Z)-HEMATP at 20�C proceeded without any side reactions despite the presence of the protected hydroxyl group which can be deprotected an acid to produce well-definded poly(DEAA), which was proved from the MALDI-TOF MS measurement.
