Synthesis of block copolymers containing poly(3-alkenylthiophene) for OFETs is reported. The alkenyl side chains are versatile functional groups, allowing facile chemical modification to generate novel materials with tunable optoelectronic properties. The 2-bromo-3-pentenyl-5-iodothiophene and 2-bromo-3-hexyl-5-iodothiophene monomers were synthesized by using an iodination procedure.  The synthesis  of poly(3-hexylthiophene)-b-poly(pentenylthiophene) is reported here. The field effect mobilities were measured for the block copolymers. TMAFM was used to investigate the morphology of the synthesized polymers.
