Pyruvaldehyde was reacted with five different thiosemicarbazides to give a series of five pyruvaldehyde bis-thiosemicarbazone compounds. These compounds were characterized by  1H NMR. The five compounds produced are: pyruvaldehyde bis-phenylthiosemicarbazone, pyruvaldehyde bis-thiosemicarbazone, pyruvaldehyde bis-ethylthiosemicarbazone, pyruvaldehyde bis-methylthiosemicarbazone, pyruvaldehyde bis-benzilthiosemicarbazone. These compounds will be used to synthesize metals complexes of Cu2+ and Ga3+.
