FASTlab is a multitracer cassette-based automated synthesis platform for the development of a wide range of fluorine-18 radiotracers. This talk will describe the development of processes enabling reliable and robust production of 18F-tracers in GMP facilities.  The translation of different chemistries and purification methods have led to the use of chemometrics (i.e design of experiment protocols) to understand the interdependencies of different synthesis parameters and thus has aided the development of robust processes. The challenges facing the production of small molecules such as the amyloid imaging agent, Flutemetamol, the calcium ion channel tracer, GE-179 and the TSPO agent, GE-180 are different to those experienced in preparing peptidic radiotracers such as Fluciclatide, an angiogenesis imaging agent and GE-212, a compound that enables imaging of c-Met. Solutions to these challenges will be presented in this paper.
