In order to improve the stability, processibility, and cycle times, different types of CaO precursors were modified by acetic acid solution. These modified CBS sorbent was investigated and the properties of the hydrated CaO were measured and compared with the virgin CaO. The CCCR carbonation reaction of calcium sorbent conversion rate variation and microstructure of the sorbents were examined with TGA and SEM and N2 adsorption method.  The mechanism of acetic acid precipitation was proposed and the results showed that the carbonation conversion rate was significantly higher than that of limestone material in terms of quenching reaction and the cycle times. The modified CaO has a higher carbonation reaction temperature from 650 to 700?, which will benefit to the carbonation reaction.  As a result, acetic acid modified CaO has significantly enhanced the material performance during the CO2 sequestration.  Different modification agents are under the investigation to father improve the performance.
