Herein, we present studies aims at developing rational methods to target RNA with small molecules.  This approach is centered on the developmenet of a database of RNA motif-ligand partners that are identified through two-dimensional combinatorial screening.  The information in this database is then mined against RNA sequence/secondary structures that cause disease.  These studies have developed bioactive small molecules targeting the RNA that causes Myotonic Dystrophy.
