Samples of Nembutal� that were manufactured by Abbott Laboratories in the mid 1960's have been kept in an unopened bottle in a controlled environment for the past 45+ years. These samples were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively for pentobarbital and its decomposition products. Purification techniques and GC/MS analysis will be presented.
