The aim of this research is to generate core-shell photoactive nanofibers by coaxial electrospinning. One of the biggest problems with the photon-to-electron conversion systems is the low conversion efficiency.  2D heterojunctions of photovoltaic cells are partly responsible for this low conversion efficiency.  In this work, our aim is to improve the photoelectron conversion efficiency by generating 3D metal-metal oxide heterojunctions.  Electrospinning is simple, versatile, and highly effective method to generate nanofibers that can bundle into freestanding materials.  By using coaxial electrospinning setup, homogeneous core-shell nanofibers can be developed.  Herein, the preparation methods of core-shell particles are reported.  Chemical, physical, and mechanical properties of electrospun nanofibers are tested.
