The Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS) at Southwestern College (SWC) has made a continuous effort to participate in events that stimulate interest in chemistry and other scientific disciplines within the population of young minds and members of the community. Events include outreach to elementary and junior high school students, posters for the Molecule of the Week, San Diego Section ACS meetings, and guest speakers at SWC from the scholastic and industrial fields. The mission of our chapter is being successfully accomplished through these activities by increasing awareness, understanding and interest in the chemical sciences.
