CHEM (Chemists Have Explosive Minds) Club, the ACS student chapter at Park University has embraced the International Year of Chemistry 2011 theme �Chemistry � our life, our future� and has started an education outreach program designed to inform the public about the role of chemistry within the health and wellness industry. The program was created to raise awareness at Park's campus and within local Kansas City community about the role of chemistry in sanitation, food products, and medicines. Chapter members have organized and participated in several educational outings: at a local orphanage and elementary school, at a local pumpkin patch, and at a campus blood drive, Halloween carnival, and fund-raising activities during National Chemistry Week.
