The College of Mount Saint Vincent chapter of the ACS strives to expose students to the exciting world of chemistry. For the fall semester of the 2011/2012 academic year we have hosted a picnic in order to introduce our freshman to our club, each other, and to upperclassmen science majors. During National Chemistry Week we held a Tie-Dye T-Shirt event and a periodic table of elements bake sale as a way to teach the student body about chemistry and to fundraise money for our club. As a club we volunteered to do a workshop for the Hall of Science. In November we will be participating in wellness week in hopes to teach our campus about how a little knowledge in science, particularly chemistry, can help improve their health and quality of life. We look forward to strengthening the foundation of chemistry for all of our members and campus community.
