To investigate the correlation between hydrodesulfurization activities of sulfur compounds and properties of catalysts, two catalysts CAT-1 and CAT-2 were explored, then characterized and evaluated with FCC diesel. The results show that CAT-1 exposes more Br�nsted acid sites on the surface and has less stacking number of WS2 slabs. CAT-2 performs a preferential interaction between the active metal and support and yields a compromised dispersion and stacking of the supported Ni�W�S phases. The HDS selectivity of refractory sulfur compounds is calculated by relatively HDS, the results show that CAT-1 has higher HDS activity in removing simple sulfur compounds while CAT-2 shows greater selectivity in removing refractory sulfur compounds, the relatively HDS of refractory sulfur compounds of CAT-2 was up to 551% and the sulfur in the product could be reduced to 65�g�g-1 under the conditions of T=593K, P=5.0MPa, LHSV=1.5h-1, and H2/oil=600(v/v).
