titanate nanotubes with a multiwall structure, synthesized by a simple hydrothermal route, were successfully used as an electrode material for DSSCs.  The best of efficiency of 7.5-8.0% was achieved for the opened cells under illumination of simulated AM1.5 solar light.  On the other hand, titanate nanowires were also synthesized and then used as a precursor for preparing complex spinel titanate Zn2Ti3O8 and Li2MTi3O8 (M = Co, Zn, Mg, Mg0.5Zn0.5, Co0.5Zn0.5) nanowires. These nanowires were highly crystalline with several tens of nanometers in diameter and then used for the first time as anode materials for LIBs. Zn2Ti3O8 nanowires electrodes displayed a very reversible charge-discharge capacity and excellent cycling stability.
