Nanocomposites of PA (Polyamide)/PPO (Polyphenylenoxide) and those of PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate)/PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride) blends with MWCNT were prepared by melt mixing in twin-screw extruder and physical properties of nanocomposites were investigated.In PA/PPO nanocomposites,  the optimum level of SEBS-MA needs to be determined in view of electrical and mechanical properties since the electrical conductivity decreases with increase in SEBS-MA composition.In PMMA/PVDF blend nanocomposites, quenching during processing appears to give better electrical conductivity compared to annealing. TEM images exhibit that MWCNTs in quenched sample are effectively dispersed. In annealed sample, MWCNTs are observed to be mainly located in PVDF crystalline phase.  Localization of MWCNTs in phase separated polymer blend nanocomposites is usually thought to improve the electrical conductivity at a fixed level of MWCNT, which turn out not to be always the case in this study. Factors affecting electrical conductivity in phase separated blend nanocomposites will be discussed in the presentation.
