Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are attractive candidates as size-selective, high-capacity material for separation of CO2 and other gases due to well-defined pore size, high surface area, low framework density, and thermal stability. These properties make MOFs a promising alternative to traditional zeolite materials for gas separation in membrane separation technologies. Here we propose a parallel high-throughput sorption measurement system to screen MOFs for CO2/N2 separation. Adsorption capacity and selectivities of sorption and diffusion were analyzed. Additionally stability of MOFs under humid air and acid gases were studied. This approach provides a significant increase in efficiency relative to current detailed sorption measurements, enabling exploration of novel sorbents in a wide range of applications.
