This research study the effects of PC/PET blend with the compatibilizer on the mechanical properties, physical properties, chemical resistance, and morphology of PC/PET alloys in large scale. The properties obtained from commercial scale will be compared with those from lab scale, as described in Inpota T. thesis work (2011). Previously, the various types of compatibilizers were studied. The best compatibilizer was selected which showed good compatibility and enhanced the mechanical properties of the PC/PET blends effectively. However, results of large scale may be worse than lab scale results. Hence, parameters of twin screw machine such as screw configuration, maximum screw speed, power of motor and volumetric throughput will be correlated between lab scale and commercial scale machines due to each machine is controlled by different parameters. The appropriate parameters for the large scale production of PC/PET/compatibilizers blends will be optimized to maintain the good mechanical properties obtained from lab scale.
