MCM-41-poly(N-isopropylacrylamida) hybrid was prepared for encapsulation of drugs and thermosensitive delivery. MCM-41 was synthesized by using TEOS and (CTAB) as surfactant. The effect of the temperature and concentration of catalyst (NaOH) have been evaluated on specific surface area and crystalline structure of the silica. Surface area was analyzed by nitrogen adsorption and its structure by X-ray diffraction. MCM-41 with a surface area of 1440m2/g was selected for further modification with acryloyl chloride in dimethilformamide (DMF) at 2-4�C, in presence of triethylamine (TEA). MCM-41-acrylate adduct was reacted with N- isopropylacrylamide (NIPA) by free-radical polymerization using AIBN as initiator in DMF at 70�C. MCM-41-PNIPA hybrid was loaded with ibuprofen and its uptake/release was investigated.
