While the conduction electrons play a dominant role in the thermal conductivity of metals, conventional MD simulations using, for example, embedded atom methods, neglect this effect, accounting only for the vibrational or lattice contribution. We adapt a two-temperature model [1] of thermal conductivity for simulations of finite clusters.
