The discussions that take place at meetings like the UN COP17 climate conference will shape the decisions about future climate and environmental policies.  It is vital for our future that positive initiatives start today.  ACS began sending student representatives last year to COP16.  These representatives were York College students attempting to provide an undergraduate perspective on the environmental discussions that take place at these COPs.  Our role was a continuation of these previous efforts to guide the public in their understanding of these global environmental issues.  While in Durban, South Africa, we attempted to stimulate discussions at home though social media and our writings.  Our experience hopefully instilled fervor in the younger generation to take steps towards climate recovery.  The current harm being done to the environment will create drastic changes in our lifetime and it is our generation that will need to combat them.
