Judicious use of the sterically encumbering phosphine P(CH21Ad)(i-Pr)2 and phosphite P(O1Ad)(i-Pr)2 ligands have allowed the isolation of several anionic Iridium mono-hydride complexes. Iridium (I) mono-hydride phosphite analogue Li[H-Ir(?2-P, C-(O1Ad)(i-Pr)(P(O1Ad)(i-Pr)2)]  of the previously reported Iridium (I) phosphine complex Li[H-Ir(?2-P, C-( CH-21Ad)(i-Pr)(P(CH-21Ad)(i-Pr)2 has been characterized by multinuclear NMR, IR and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The Iridium (I) mono-hydride phosphite analogue was isolated from an Iridium (III) arrested methyl intermediate Li[(H)2(CH4) Ir(?2-P, C-( CH-21Ad)(i-Pr)(P(CH-21Ad)(i-Pr)2. The increased lewis acidity of these Iridium phosphite complexes is also discussed and compared with the Iridium phosphine analogues H2-Ir(?2-P, C-(CH21Ad)(i-Pr)(P(CH21Ad)(i-Pr)2)  and H2Ir(Cl)(P(CH21Ad)(i-Pr)2)2.
