Carbon dioxide reforming (CDR) of methane (CH4 + CO2 � 2CO + 2H2) is becoming much attractive due to utilization of two green house gases in the production of synthesis gas. Noble metal such as Rh, Ru, Pt, and Ir has been studied extensively for this reaction and showed stable operations with low carbon formation. Instead of noble metal having high cost and restricted availability, nickel-based catalysts have been paid attention in industrial standpoint. However, Ni catalysts suffer from deactivation by carbon formation. Many attempts have been made to avoid or prevent carbon formation by the addition of base metal (alkali or alkaline earth, La), and noble metal as promoter and partial poisoning of Ni with sulfur. It is well known that calcium acts as promoter by improving resistance for carbon formation by modifying acidic properties in catalyst or increasing electron density of Ni.
