A new vibrational Lewis type cell was elaborated. The averaged flows (acoustic streams) had the shape of two axial-symmetrical impinging jets falling on the interface from the opposite sides of the cell and producing two large-scale toroidal vortices in both liquids. The jets were generated by two activators under translational axial oscillation. Both the continuous renewal of the interface and the homogeneous mixing of the bulk were ensured.The structure and the intensity of the vibrational flows were studied using PIV technique. Results were correlated in terms of pulsational Reynolds number related to the thickness of Stokes viscous boundary layer.Experimental validation dealing with heat transfer was conducted in a simplified vibrational cell. Dimensionless analysis approach led to a unique law (Nu, Pr, Re). An intensification of interfacial heat transfer was observed when compared to rotating stirring. Theoretical expectations for interfacial mass transfer could be drawn in accordance with mass-heat transfer analogies.
