The design and synthesis of peptidomimetics that can successfully mirror the structure and function of genuine proteins are challenging, but the studies are important for medical purposes.  It is already known that the incorporation of �2-amino acids stabilizes �-peptide secondary structures and prevents destruction by protease activity in the body.  Reported here is the progress toward the synthesis of both the orthogonally protected and non-orthogonally protected �2-bis ornithine amino acids and the a-bis ornithine amino acid.
