A siloxane-containing dianhydride, succinic anhydride terminated polydimethylsiloxane (DMS-Z21) was selected to replace methyl-tetrahydrophalic anhydride(MeTHPA) at different ratios for diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A based epoxy resin (DGEBA). The effects on cure kinetics and thermal properties were investigated by nonisothermal and isothermal differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA), respectively. The activation energy (Ea) of the curing reaction was obtained based on the methods of Kissinger.  It was found that the curing reaction with different anhydrides took place in the same temperature range. The activation energy of the C-MeTHPA is the highest. The thermal stability of the blend increased with the content of DMS-Z21.
