Cellulose nanocrystal was obtained from lignocellulosic biomass by enzymatic degradation using thermophilic endoglucanase. Amorphous region of cellulose was successfully degraded at 85�C by this enzyme, producing mono-sugars. Morphology of thus-obtained high-crystalline cellulose crystal shows that the diameter and length were found to be 4-5 nm and 150-200 nm, respectively. Various properties such as different aspect ratio, crystallinity and specific surface area were obtained by different enzymatic degradation conditions.
