Nnomaterials are being of interest in term of their formation and characterization. Different methods, chemical and physical, are available for the synthesis of nanoparticales (NPs) metal oxides. However, pulsed laser ablation (PLA) in liquid media has become an attractive method for the controlled fabrication of nanomaterials via rapid reactive quenching of ablated species at the interface between the plasma and liquid. As models of the metal oxides nanoparticles that can be synthesized by PLA, the growth of nanocrystalline-structured materials of Bi2O3 and NiO will be presented.  For that purpose, pure pallet of bismuth metal or nickel metal was immersed in liquids such as de-ionize water and hydrogen peroxide.  The results of XRD show pure phases and the average grain sizes were 4 nm and 8 nm for Bi2O3 and NiO, respectively. The band gaps were 3.35 and 3.8 eV for NiO and Bi2O3 respectively. FTIR spectra confirm the presence of the Bi-O and Ni-O bonds on each sample.
