The results of a survey, which was sent to a large cross-section of practicing engineers and chemistry and engineering faculty who teach them, will be presented and discussed. The respondents of the survey provided their input on the areas of chemistry they consider most important and useful for engineers to know. The opinions concerning the chemistry topics that the respondents believe should be included in engineering curricula will be compared to the topics that are currently taught by chemists who teach engineering students. A discussion of how well currently available Chemistry tests meet the needs of engineering students will complete this presentation.
