The Eschenmoser coupling reaction is the traditional method of synthesizing enaminoesters by coupling a thioamide and a carbonyl. However, this reaction has several drawbacks including a fairly long reaction time and the use of a thiophile. By applying sonication to a typical Eschenmoser reaction, the reaction time was able to be significantly reduced, and the reaction was cleaner and higher yielding.  Using this method, we were able to synthesize a variety of compounds.
