Rolloamide A is a cyclic heptapeptide isolated from the Dominican marine sponge Eurypon laughlini. A number of structurally similar cyclopeptides are currently being investigated as potential anticancer drug leads due to their cytotoxicity. Particularly, rolloamide A displays substantial growth suppression against histologically diverse cancer cells. The present work reports progress towards the total synthesis of Rolloamide A and its analogs by a solid-phase method.
