One of the challenges in preparing nanomaterials is to develop scalable, controllable, reliable and simplistic synthetic procedures. Moreover, their properties are dependent on their sizes and morphologies. In this talk, we present our recent work on the synthesis of luminescent oxide and magnetic double perovskite nanoparticles. These nanoparticles are characterized by x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, (high-resolution) transmission electron microscope, selected-area electron diffraction and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy to delineate their structure and composition. Their luminescent and magnetic properties have been systematically studied. These properties make these nanoparticles promising for many practical applications.
