Dry reforming of methane (DRM) is important as it consumes two abundant green-house gases and converts them to industrially important syngas. The catalysts used for studying this reaction are unsubstituted lanthanum zirconate (LZ), Rh substituted LRhZ (2 wt%) and LRhZ (5 wt%) pyrochlores. Pyrochlores (A2B2O7) are thermally stable crystalline materials and isomorphic substitution of the active metal on the B-site of the lattice results in an active catalyst for DRM. In this particular work the three catalysts were characterized and their activity was studied at different temperatures of 550 �C, 575 �C, and 600 �C. The conversion of the reactants and the final products were analysed. Characterization results like the Temperature programmed reduction showed that the reducibility of the pyrochlore increases with an increase in the metal substitution. It was observed that the conversion of the reactants was in direct correlation to metallic substitution into the pyroclore lattice.
