Cyclopropanes functionalized with electron donor and acceptor groups react with a variety of dipolarophiles in a formal [3+2] cycloaddition process.  Effective dipolarophiles include nitriles, imines, enol ethers, aldehydes, pyridines and indoles, and these have in turn been used to prepare pyrroles, indoles, indolizines, azaindoles and natural products.  An overview of our work in this area will be presented.
