Cyclopentenones are useful building blocks and can be found in many natural products and interesting drug targets. We report herein the first transfer of chiral information from an allene to a stereogenic carbon adjacent to the carbonyl of a 4-alkylidene cyclopentenone in the intramolecular rhodium(I)-catalyzed allenic Pauson-Khand reaction (APKR). High yields were obtained when the reaction was performed uisng trisubstituted allenes bearing internal alkynes. Investigations regarding the scope of this chiral transfer will be reported.
