In this paper we describe how an enzyme is used as ink to write on poly(e-caprolactone), PCL, via hydrolysis reactions forming safe water soluble degradation products. The PCL degrading enzyme, Candida antartica lipase B (CALB), was spread on a PDMS elastomeric stamp. The formation and quality of microchannel patterns on PCL surfaces as a function of time was assessed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The pattern quality was affected by the pressure exerted on the stamp as enzyme is transferred from the stamp to the PCL surface.
