A method of the determination of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOSA) and N-ethyl perfluorooctane sulfonamide (N-EtPFOSA) in textiles was developed by using gas chromatography(GC) with electron capture detector(ECD). Two pretreatment methods, ultrasonic-assisted extraction and microwave-assisted extraction, were investigated and optimized with the orthogonal design and simple factor design experiments to extract compounds from sample. A derivation reaction was studied in order to determinate PFOA by GC. It has been proved that the conditions of higher velocity and lower temperature were favourable for GC measurements of the PFOA and PFOS. The method of the microwave-assisted extraction showed higher extraction efficiencies than the ultrasonic extraction. The detection limits for the GC-�ECD measurements coupled with microwave extraction method were 0.00274~0.00652�g/g, the precisions were 2.31~10.56%, and the recoveries of spiked samples were 93.3~103.0%(n=6). This method is more sensitive, economic, and faster for the determination of PFOA and PFOS in textiles than previously developed protocols.
