A series of multifunctional triazine-based PET imaging probes were designed and synthesized. The triazine platform provides three different linkers of different length and orthogonal functional groups for coupling imaging probe components.  The synthesis can be achieved in a stepwise manner under temperature-controlled conditions or using unconventional microwave synthesis method. The radionuclides Cu-64 or Ga-68 can be attached with bifunctional chelates such as DOTA or NOTA using standardized amidation conditions. Different or duplicate targeting moieties such as integrin alpha(v)beta(3)-specific cyclo(RGDfk) or gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR) targeting bombesin analogues can be �clicked� conveniently onto the platform using azide alkyne Huisgen cycloaddition reaction. Further functionalization with optical imaging dyes or additional chelate � radiometals is under investigation.
