Boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) and boron nitride nanosheets (BNNS) were synthesized by catalytic CVD of molecular precursors.  Multi- and double-walled BNNTs were synthesized from borazine and decaborane with a floating nickel catalyst, whereas the BNNS were generated from decaborane on polycrystalline nickel and copper foils.  The CVD processes and the characterization of the BN nanostructures by AFM, SEM, TEM, EELS and Raman spectroscopy will be discussed.
